The
purpose of "Tango CAMINITO"
SCHOOL is to teach Authentic Tango
Argentine style as well as some other
dances; to help people to improve their
relationships through the dancing; to
increase the appreciation for the present
moment of our lives; to promote a better
understanding of Argentine culture and
traditions; to increase, to foster a spirit
of Tango dance for social and cultural
purposes. Our web site is for to display,
nurture, enjoy and share Authentic Tango,
Argentine culture and traditions with
all. Our School is open to all people
who is interested in such values, in active
lifestyle, in Argentine culture, traditions
and dancing, as well as in ballroom and
character dances.
Musical
Director - Victor Dr. PhD in
agriculture economics. Victor believes
that Tango is the most exiting and challenging
dance, which helps many people to develop
deeper concentration, body and life balance.
Producer/
choreographer - Elena. She
has a lot of experience in many different
areas of art, journalism, cinematography
and dancing. Elena likes to create different
characters during her dancing. She finished
Tango Choreography and Master Classes,
and has a special professional Diploma.
Elena and Victor are teaching a special
Tango classes: "Energy and connections,
communications in the Authentic tango
Embrace" and many others.
Marina
is a gifted person. She writes
her own stories, plays piano, dances ballet,
ballroom, tango, and character dancing,
sews, and enjoys the art of painting.
Marina makes most of her costumes and
creates her own choreography.
She moved with her mother to the USA from
St. Petersburg, Russia. Marina is a very
artistic and creative girl. She likes
to paint, dance, play on the piano and
write her own books. Classical music also
holds Marina's interest, and her favorite
composer is Bach.
Marina studded character dancing and ballet,
during which she has expresses a lot of
talent and passion for. She makes most
of her costumes and creates her own choreography.
Marina is a Principal dancer of Tango
Caminito School.
Lila, is originally from St.
Petersburg (Russia); immigrated to the
USA in 1999. She is Marina's Shershen
mother. Lila is a student of San Marcos
University, her major is accounting. Lila
is a Stage Manager and vide/photo artist
of Tango Caminito Dance Company.
Juliann
is the founder of Juliann's
Skin Care and Permanent Makeup Center
has been a clinical aesthetician, camouflage
makeup artist, and permanent makeup artist
for over 20 years.
She
has loved all styles of dance since childhood.
She avidly studied Ballroom and Latin,
and many other dances. She is learning
Argentine Tango with Elena and Victor
Pankey for 1,5 year. For her very polite
friendly personality, responsibility and
active work for "Tango Caminito School",
Juliann was nominated as the best volunteer
of the Company for "14th Annual STAR
Awards San Diego Performing Arts League's
annual tribute to volunteers of 2005 (May
23rd)"
Raphael
is a veteran of over 2300 professional
performances, and he spent over 11 years
playing guitar and singing as a full time
professional including a stint with the
Del Reys in the '60s. In addition to his
music he is currently a Doctor of Chiropractic
as well as a Certified Naturopathic Physician
and owns a health care facility in Escondido
California.
Raphael is learning tango with Elena and
Victor Pankey for 1, 5 year. He is Juliann
Giurleo tango partner.
Lita - has been involve
in social ballroom dancing for over six
years and has become an accomplished and
a very elegant dancer in a variety of
styles such as west coast swing, salsa,
cha cha, rumba, samba, night club two
step and many others. For the past several
years Lita has developed a love for Argentine
Tango and dances regularly at venues throughout
the west coast.
Jerry - has always had a love
for music and all forms of artistic movement.
In the year 2000 he develop special interest
in Latin salsa, cha cha and samba. For
the past 2 years one of his special joys
of life has been to learn and dance the
Argentine Tango.
Arturo
is a Real Estate Broker. He
was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, birth
place of La Cumparsita, Carlos Gardel,
and el Baron del tango Julio Sosa. He
immigrated to America in 1969. Tango has
been part of his life since he was young;
he grew-up listening to tango music and
watching his parents dance beautiful Milongas
con cortes. At ten years old Arturo performed
his first tango show on roller skates
and continued to perform until the age
of fifteen. It is only 18 months ago that
he began dancing tango as an adult (and
without the roller skates!). Arturo greatly
appreciates the music and the nostalgia
that Tango ignites. His partner and a
member of Tango Caminito Dance Company
is Catherine Schuster.
Catherine
(a Real Estate Broker) earned
her bachelors degree in behavioral science
from University of California at Davis
and her masters and doctoral degrees in
public health from Ohio State University.
Catherine began dancing tango 2 years
ago. She has taken numerous classes from
different teachers. Catherine likes to
dance, and when she is not caring for
her three children, she enjoys dancing
at any of the many San Diego County Milonga.
Kim, learned and enjoyed Ballroom
for 7 years. She likes to dance with Mike.
Recently, she is talented and fast student
of Elena and Victor.
Michael
- been dancing & teaching
Ballroom since May 1975. During 1982 to
1985 Mike attended Brock University, setting
aside full-time teaching while studying
towards an Honors Bachelor's in Business
& Economics. He moved to San Diego
CA in 1986, and pursued his interests
in science, mathematics & computing.
He has studied, danced, taught & had
fun with all forms of Ballroom dancing:
Smooth, Rhythm, Latin, Nightclub, competitive,
social, American, Country, International,
Exhibition, Theatre Arts...in other words
dancing. He is learning Authentic tango
with Elena and Victor Pankey.
Gloria
- professional Flamenco
dancer. She is learning tango with Elena
and Victor. She is dancing with
Reg.
Reg, works for TV companies; leaning
Tango with Elena and Victor.
